Getting Started
Kindred Connections works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, life transitions, and women's wellness, among other concerns. Our approach is culturally responsive and identity-conscious, and we welcome clients who are looking for care that centers race, culture, and lived experience rather than treating them as incidental.
Telehealth sessions are currently available to residents of North Carolina and Florida. If you're located outside of these states, feel free to reach out — we're happy to point you toward resources or let you know if that changes.
The easiest first step is booking a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk through what you're looking for and answer any questions before you commit to anything. You can also send a message through the contact form on the homepage, and we typically respond within 1–2 business days.
If you are in crisis, please don't wait on a response — call or text 988, or call 911.
The initial free consultation is a low-pressure conversation to see whether we're a good fit — there's no obligation to continue afterward. If you decide to move forward, your first full session will focus on understanding your story, your goals, and what a safe, affirming space looks like for you.
Services & Approach
Current offerings include individual therapy, group therapy, and clinical supervision for provisionally licensed counselors, all delivered via secure telehealth. Consultation and community workshops are coming soon. As the practice grows, we're also building toward hybrid and in-person options.
Bibliotherapy uses literature, storytelling, and guided reading as tools for reflection, meaning-making, and growth. It's one of the distinctive approaches woven into care at Kindred Connections, alongside narrative therapy — both grounded in the belief that your story isn't fixed, and you have influence over how it continues.
Care is integrative and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), narrative therapy, bibliotherapy, strengths-based therapy, person-centered therapy, somatic-informed approaches, and trauma-informed care — blended to meet each person where they are.
Yes — culturally affirming, identity-conscious care is central to every service, not an add-on. This is informed directly by Dr. Easley's active research in Black feminist frameworks, multicultural counseling, and community wellness.
Fees & Insurance
Fee structures, sliding scale availability, and insurance options vary and are best discussed directly. Please reach out through the free consultation or contact form so we can talk through what's available to you — accessibility is something we're genuinely committed to.
Sliding scale availability is one of the things we discuss on a case-by-case basis during your consultation, as part of our commitment to keeping care accessible.
Free 15-minute consultations are booked through our Headway scheduling page. You can also reach out through the contact form on the homepage if you have questions first.
Telehealth & Privacy
Yes. Sessions are delivered through secure, HIPAA-compliant video telehealth, giving you quality care that meets you where you are, across North Carolina and Florida.
All sessions are confidential within the legal and ethical limits of counseling. Your privacy and safety are our priority.
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. It collects standard, anonymized usage data such as pages viewed and general location — it does not collect health information or anything you would share during care. Scheduling and intake happen through separate, secure platforms (Headway and SimplePractice).
Sessions are available by appointment, Monday through Saturday.
Groups
Kindred Connections facilitates groups that offer community, shared understanding, and skills building — a reminder that healing doesn't have to happen alone. See the Groups section on the homepage for current and upcoming offerings and their launch timing.
Group therapy offers something individual sessions can't on their own: the experience of being understood by people who've walked a similar path. It's part of a broader belief at Kindred Connections that healing is about connection and collective resilience, not just symptom management.
Clinical Supervision
Yes. As a North Carolina Qualified Supervisor, Dr. Easley supports provisionally licensed counselors working toward full licensure with culturally grounded, affirming oversight.
The SupervisionLink Directory connects counselors with qualified clinical supervisors and opens in a new tab.
Resources
These free downloadable toolkits — for individuals, people of color, and communities — grew out of Dr. Easley's doctoral research on the lived experiences of Black women with PCOS/PMOS, grounded in a Black Feminist Disability Framework. They bridge clinical scholarship and everyday wellness, offering psychoeducation on the emotional and psychological impact of PMOS and culturally informed guidance for navigating care. You can find them in the Resources section on the homepage.
Yes — The Kindred Reader is a standalone tool that helps you discover your reading profile and explore bibliotherapy as a reflective practice on its own.
