Kindred Learning Clinic

A practice that also trains clinicians

Kindred Connections Counseling PLLC is a working clinical practice and a training site. Graduate students in practicum and internship placements see real clients here, under close supervision, as part of how we grow the next generation of culturally responsive counselors.

What This Means

Training happens alongside real care

🩺
Direct clinical supervision
Every intern is supervised by Dr. Olivia Easley, a Qualified Supervisor, with regular individual and case-based supervision built around real client work.
🌿
Culturally responsive from day one
Interns train in the same culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach that shapes every client relationship at Kindred.
💻
Telehealth-based experience
Since nearly all of our care happens by video, interns build real competence in virtual clinical work — not just in-person skills.

For Clients & Referral Sources

Services Our Interns Provide

Clients who work with a Kindred intern receive the same culturally responsive, person-centered care as anyone else in the practice — delivered by a developing clinician whose work is directly overseen by a licensed supervisor at every step.

What an intern can offer

  • Individual counseling, under direct clinical supervision
  • Intake sessions, assessment, and collaborative treatment planning
  • Co-facilitation of groups alongside a licensed clinician
  • Consistent, timely clinical documentation, reviewed as part of supervision
  • Telehealth sessions using the same secure platform as the rest of the practice
🌱
Why this can be a good fit

Working with a supervised intern often means more availability and a clinician who brings real energy to the work, backed by a supervisor reviewing the case. It's a genuine, well-supported level of care — not a lesser version of it.

How We Train Our Interns

Every intern at Kindred is clinically assessed before placement, receives ongoing training throughout their time with us, and works under close clinical supervision. Training and support don't stop once you start seeing clients — they continue for as long as you're here.

A note from Dr. Olivia Easley

"I don't expect interns to arrive as finished clinicians. I expect curiosity, openness to feedback, and a genuine commitment to the people we serve. That's what we build on together in supervision."
